Scott Taylor Takes a Win and Two Runner-Up Finishes at the Big
House
-
June
23, 2008 (Belvidere, IL) – Taylor Racing made the trek to Crandon
to compete at track that has been a major part of his thirty three
year
career. Scott Taylor brought his crew and family to the Northwoods
to enjoy the camaraderie and friendships he has made throughout
his career.
The 2008 season has the reigning WSORR PRO-2WD champion,
contracted to run another race series, but he still chose to
compete at the “Big House.” Crandon International Off-Road Raceway
is the Indianapolis equivalent in the off-road racing world.
Saturday Round Three
The #8 Skyjacker Suspensions BFGoodrich Tire Ford F-150 came out
of Potawatomi Turn One in
fourth
place behind fellow Skyjacker Suspensions driver, Ross Hoek. After
a short time behind Hoek he made his move and headed towards
second place Vandenhuevel. After four more laps, Scott moved into
second place. Unfortunately time ran out for Scott to
make
a serious charge on the leader. At the checkered flag, Scott
Taylor crossed the Skyjacker Finish line in second place.
Overnight the Russ Wernimont and the crew made a slight gear
change looking for a better bite coming out of the corners.
Sunday Round Four
The start saw the #8 Skyjacker truck tuck in behind #99 Kevin
Probst as the two trucks headed down the Ford Trucks Skybox
straightaway. On lap three, Scott made a clean move and grabbed
the lead. The rest of the way was smooth sailing as Scott Taylor
crossed the finish line in front of the field. -

Taylor Has Solid Performance in Pomona – Heads to Crandon for
Chairman’s Cup
June 10, 2008 (Belvidere, IL) - Scott Taylor and the #8 Skyjacker
Suspensions Wernimont Designs Roush Performance BFGoodrich Tires
Ford F-150 headed back to Pomona looking to get back to his
“championship style” form. The two rounds of racing in Primm were
hard on the team, as mechanical failure and heavy contact from
another competitor, put Taylor Racing back in the pack of the
Championship standings.
Saturday morning saw Scott take to the track for Round 5 qualifying.
The chassis setup Russ Wernimont and Mike Kasch put under the truck
really made the #8 Ford F-150 come alive. The session had Scott
qualify third fastest out of the twenty six PRO-2 trucks entered. -

Taylor Battles Adversity at Primm
Belvidere, IL (May 21, 2008) - The #8 Skyjacker Suspensions
BFGoodrich Tire Ford F-150
pulled
into Las Vegas International Off-Road Raceway looking to regain the
championship form that fans expect from Scott Taylor. The week
before the event, Scott Taylor and his chief engineer and designer,
Russ Wernimont, spent some time at a test track fine tuning the
truck’s chassis setup.
The track, located behind the three Herbst-owned Primm Valley
casinos, was basically the same layout as the final weekend of the
2007 CORR season. The .95 mile course featured high speed jumps, a
lengthy rhythm section, a huge table top, and CORR trademarked
banked corners. The biggest difference between last November and the
past weekend was the air temperature. The weekend saw temperatures
exceeding 100 degrees F both days.
The Friday evening qualifying session saw the Skyjacker Ford stop
the clocks sixth fastest. In 2008 the PRO-2 continued to be
extremely competitive. The top six qualifying PRO-2 trucks were
within one second of the pole winner. -

Taylor Racing - CORR Pomona Season Opener Report
Belvidere, IL (April 29, 2008) - Scott Taylor and his #8 Skyjacker
Suspensions BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150 went to Pomona to begin his
quest to regain the CORR PRO-2 title. His competition was i ntense
as twenty three of the world’s best PRO-2 qualified for the weekend of
racing.
The man made track at The Fairplex in Pomona, CA was .74 mile long and
consisted of jumps, whoops, banked corners, a large table top, and a
fairly long section of asphalt. The transition from dirt to pavement
and back to dirt really gave the tire manufacturers fits. The
BFGoodrich tires really seemed to work well considering the extreme
surface conditions.
Saturday – Round One
Practice went as planned. The truck needed a bit more rebound in the
rear, so the team quickly made the change and sent the Skyjacker Ford
out for qualifying. Scott Taylor brought the #8 home seventh quickest
in the twenty three truck field.
The race itself was in one word, fast. The fifteen lap affair did not
have a single caution, other than the mandatory yellow. The racing was
door to door, with minimal contact. -

Taylor Seeks Seventh CORR PRO-2 Title
Belvidere, IL – (April 23, 2008) - Scott Taylor and his #8 Skyjacker
Suspensions BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150 are back racing the CORR
series, full-time, looking to take back the championship. From 1998 to
2005 Scott Taylor was the one driver everyone measured themselves
against. During that seven year period, Taylor Racing won the
championship six times and was runner up once, feat that may never be
seen again in off-road racing.

- “For
most of my career I was the hunted,” commented Scott Taylor. “After
winning the WSORR championship last year, we ran the last few CORR
rounds in Dallas and Vegas. We had some mechanical issues, but we
ran up front every time. Now, everyone on the internet is picking a
West Coast guy to win PRO-2 this weekend. I guess I’m flying under
the radar now. With this brand new truck under me, I think we are
going to surprise some of the fans this weekend.”
